Elektrotechniek Van Hecke joins Cordeel Group

Purchase

Elektrotechniek Van Hecke (EVH) from Evergem is taken over by Imtech Belgium, a multi-technical installation company that belongs to the Belgian construction group Cordeel. The entire Van Hecke Electrical Engineering team will remain on board.

EVH, strong partner in the energy transition

Since 1993, Elektrotechniek Van Hecke (EVH) has been providing electrical installations for industry and SMEs in the North Sea Port, the region around Gent-Zeehaven and Terneuzen. The challenges in the current market encouraged new cooperation: “ The electrification of the fleet and the irreversible greening of the industry prompted EVH to look for a strong partner, to join an alliance and ensure its future growth ”, said Peter Van Hecke, CEO of EVH. “ EVH focuses mainly on expanding its team of highly trained technicians and sought a reliable partner to help achieve this. ”

The whole team remains on board

An agreement was concluded last week whereby Imtech Belgium, part of the Cordeel Group, took over the shares of EVH. During the takeover, it was decided that the entire team with approximately 40 EVH employees will remain on board. Peter Van Hecke was appointed as managing director and CEO and sees great opportunities: “ We are convinced that we can make a huge quantum leap under the wings of Cordeel Group, that we alone could never realize. We are extremely complementary. The support in R&D and in various facilities such as Legal and IT of the Cordeel group will ensure that we can realize the major challenges with our customers with confidence.”

Erik Groes, CEO of Imtech Belgium: “The area around Gent-Zeehaven was a blind spot for us. With the strong EVH technical team, Cordeel Group will also spread its wings here and offer a total solution to a rapidly growing industrial region.”
