OMNICAP advises Vanas Group on the sale of the tooling activities to Cebeo (Sonepar Group)

As of February 1, 2015, CEBEO has acquired the tooling operations VANAS BEYOND TOOLS from VANAS GROUP. OMNICAP was the corporate finance advisor of VANAS GROUP on the transfer of its tooling activities.

CEBEO, with a turnover of EUR 400 million and 650 employees and part of the French international group SONEPAR (www.sonepar.com), is market leader in the distribution of electro technical equipment, technical services and solutions. VANAS BEYOND TOOLS, with a turnover of EUR 14 million and 45 employees, is a specialized wholesaler of professional hand tools, machinery and lifting applications.

This transaction is for CEBEO a "close-to-core” acquisition: as part of its growth strategy as a specialized wholesaler, VANAS BEYOND TOOLS is the most suitable partner for the expansion of the existing product portfolio and technical expertise in tooling. For VANAS BEYOND TOOLS the scale and performance of CEBEO in terms of logistics and e-business are great assets.

Both companies have a familial and local character, with strong focus on customer service and quality of product offerings and services.

VANAS ENGINEERING SA, known for warehouse systems and dynamic systems for industry and hospitals, is not part of this transaction.

Eric Van Assche, CEO of VANAS GROUP, and Alexander Dewulf, CEO of CEBEO, on the transaction:
"We are both convinced that the synergies between Cebeo and Vanas Beyond Tools in terms of products and solutions, technical competencies, e-business and logistics services will strengthen without doubt the business of our customers in the future."
